The Start-up Slams are a great opportunity for start-ups seeking to raise a pre-seed, seed or Series A financing round to showcase their project in front of potential partners and investors in Life Sciences.

How does it work?

APPLICATION

⚠️ To apply to the Start-up Slams, you must be registered for BioFIT ⚠️
To apply, the candidate must:
• Be a start-up company or a company in
creation
• Seek funding (seed or Series A financing
round)
• Develop an innovative technology/product
• Be registered to BioFIT 2026
• Fill out the online application form and
submit it before September 17^th, 2026

Before the event

PRELIMINARY SELECTION

All applications will be reviewed a first time by a jury (composed of high level representatives and international experts from public and private institutions, life sciences industries, and investors) who will select all the projects that will make it to the second round of selection.
Applicants who have not been selected will be contacted with feedback from the jury on the application.

FINAL SELECTION

Only a limited number of projects can be presented during BioFIT.
The jury will mark each application and select the best innovative projects.
The projects selected during this second round will have the opportunity to be presented during BioFIT.
All applicants will be contacted with feedback and advice from the jury to help develop the projects.
Selected candidates will be given guidelines and will have the opportunity to take part in a warm-up session with expert jury members to train before the actual presentation during BioFIT.
The selected candidates will benefit from an exclusive 50% discount on a dedicated meeting space on the Innov’Area within the exhibition area during BioFIT.

PITCH & AWARD

The pitchers will have 5 minutes to present their innovation, business model and company strategy, in front of a jury of experts, potential partners and investors.
The panel of experts will mark the presentation and give valuable feedback and advice to the pitchers.
The project with the best mark (written application and on-site presentation) will be selected by the jury of experts.
The winner will be recognised as the most innovative start-up in Life Sciences in Europe during the 2nd day of BioFIT.
