ULRICH ZÜGEL

Ulrich Zügel, PhD is the Emerging Science & Innovation Lead – Inflammation & Immunology Europe at Pfizer, based in Berlin, Germany. He is responsible for scouting of preclinical partnering opportunities in Europe and establishing new collaborations. Ulrich 23 years of international experience in Pharma R&D. Prior to joining Pfizer, Ulrich was Vice President of Drug Discovery at SILENCE THERAPEUTICS GmbH, Germany. Before that he was in different management positions as Vice President in Drug Discovery at BAYER AG and Schering AG, Germany. During his career he successfully delivered numerous candidates to development in different disease areas. His academic career included postdoctoral work at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology in San Diego, USA and at the University of Ulm, Germany. He did his PhD in Immunology at the University of Ulm, Germany and graduated from the University of Tübingen, Germany in Biology. He is author of >50 scientific publications.
