Created in 2009, Egid is the first research Institute dedicated to the study of diabetes, obesity and their complications .
Egid was formed as a result of the combined knowledge and expertise of the 3 co-founders:
• Pr. P. FROGUEL
• Pr. B. STAELS
• Pr. F. PATTOU
The main mission of Egid is to identify diabetes’ risk factors, to understand the mechanisms of the development of their complications to prevent the onset of this crippling disease and better treat the patients.
