Tim is New Ventures Manager at VIB, an entrepreneurial life sciences institute in Belgium. He is responsible for creating innovative spin-offs from the groundbreaking research at VIB. Tim has an extensive track record in incorporating spin-offs (a.o. ExeVir Bio) and R&D and licensing deals with biotech and pharma players in various therapeutic areas (infectious diseases, I/O, structural biology, etcetera).

Originally trained as a molecular biologist at Ghent University (Belgium), Tim spent 4 years in London (UK) at Cancer Research UK and The Francis Crick Institute working in oncology target discovery & validation in close collaboration with Astellas Pharma. He moved on to become responsible for Business Development at VIB prior to joining the VIB New Ventures team in 2022. Tim has also been active for several years as Head of TechTransfer Group at EU-LIFE, a European consortium of life sciences institutes.
